Chicken Broth is a Wonder on the HCG Diet

Chicken Broth during the Fall and Winter months is such a versatile thing to have around as an Phase 2 HCG Diet Staple. You can make a soup with it, yu can use it as a liquid to cook protein or vegetables in and you add any seasonings you like and make a broth to sip on!  I tend to make this weekly and it's something my kids have  learned to love to sip on to warm up.  It is also pretty simple to turn this into bone broth which is very high in minerals and easy on the digestive system.  Please be sure any seasonings that you choose for this recipe are free from sugar!


What you will Need for this HCG Diet Broth

6 pieces of boneless, skinless chicken breasts (free range, organic if possible) cut into 3.5 ounce servings

7 cups water


1/2 tsp garlic powder


1/2 tsp onion powder


1/4 tsp celery salt


1/4 tsp cumin


1/4 tsp coriander


1/4 tsp  black pepper


1/4 tsp of a poultry seasoning blend with sage, rosemary and thyme


1/2 tsp Himalayan sea salt (coarse preferred)


You can add any HCG Diet veggies of your choice as well (celery, chard, onion and garlic work well


Putting this HCG Diet Broth Together


First, add water and seasonings to large pot and stir until seasonings are dissolved and well combined.



Next, add raw chicken breasts, turn heat to medium-high and bring to a boil for 12 minutes. Then,  cover and reduce heat to medium-low and cook until chicken is done.  Reaching an inside temp of 165 degrees is a good thing to shoot for.


Then, remove the chicken and vegetable pieces from the pot and pour the remaining stock into mason jars or other containers and place in the fridge or freezer to use later.


The best part is that you are also left with 6 chicken servings for the week. These can be placed in the fridge and used as desired.


The broth can be used as a base to make any of the HCG Diet friendly soups. I also love to use the broth as a liquid to cook other proteins or vegetables in.
