Being Mindful as you move on from the HCG Diet Protocol

 

You have "graduated" from the HCG Diet Program and now you are ready to be in life and have control. Yes, you lost weight on the HCG Diet.  Yes, we want you to enjoy food and be social and not feel deprived ... AND you must be mindful. The occasional indulgence is wonderful and welcome.  After, be sure you jump back on to your maintenance plan which is the diet you have created for yourself to follow 90% of the time in your life.  Most of the time, we find our patients really have learned to love free range meats, fresh seafood, organic vegetables, fruits and find these foods make them feel the best.  

 

 

Will I gain the Weight Back that I lost on the HCG Diet?

 

I cannot stress this enough ...THE HCG DIET IS NOT MAGIC!  IT WILL NOT RESET YOUR METABOLISM SO THAT YOU CAN EAT WHATEVER YOU LIKE!!

Rather, the HCG Diet is a wonderful springboard that can launch you into shedding those pounds that you have been wanting to get rid of.  It is a wonderful method of resetting habits and patterns and LEARNING how to eat to sustain your new weight without feeling deprived.  This takes mindfulness.  In a world where food is in an overabundance, it also takes a great deal of diligence to keep yourself in line. 

 

Tips to stay in line on phase IV of the HCG Diet

 

I recommend that my patients weight themselves at least every few days.  This way, if you gain a few lbs you can go back to a correction day.  You can do Dr. Simeons steak day or Dr. Cara's correction day.  I see them work beautifully most of the time.  Most patients will notice as they eat simple carbs such as breads and grains or any simple sugar they will gain weight rather quickly.  Higher blood sugars lead to insulin and cortisol release which tells the body to store.  This is what we want to avoid!  If you can fully enjoy the amazing bounty of fresh, clean protein sources, veggies and fruits you will be right in line.
