Nuts and Seeds Can be a Great Protein Source in Your Smoothie - Phase 3 HCG Diet Smoothie

Believe it or not, nuts and seeds are a high source of nutrition.  I love putting pumpkin seeds, walnuts and chia seeds in my smoothies to add some protein. Avocado seeds ground are also a wonderful way to add add some nutritional density to your cup!    I highly recommend our phase III HCG Diet patients give this a try!  With 2 tbsp chia seeds, 2 tbsp walnuts and 2 tbsp pumpkin seeds you have just added a whopping 18 grams of protein to your smoothie!

Health Benefits of Many Nuts and Seeds

Most of the antioxidant properties of pumpkins, sunflowers, chia plant and avocado are found in the seed.  The seeds are also extremely antimicrobial and this is a nice benefit to offer the digestive tract.  Many nuts and seeds also contain high amounts of  soluble fiber. Inpaticularly, the avocado seed has more soluble fiber per ounce than most other vegetables.

 

High Protein Phase 3 HCG Diet Smoothie Recipe

 

  • 1 cup nut milk or water (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 organic, apple
  • 2 handfuls of fresh spinach
  • ½ Hass avocado
  • ½ Hass avocado seed
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin seeds
  • 2 tbsp walnuts
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • Small piece grated ginger (optional)
  • 1.5  scoops of sun warrior vanilla protein powder

Blend well and enjoy!!!
