Almond Milk works on P3 of the HCG Diet

Can I have almond Milk on the HCG Diet Program in Phase III?

As long as the almond milk is free of sugars and low in carbs it will work on the HCG Diet.  When you go to the store and read the labels on most almond milks you will see ingredients such as carageenan, xanthum gum, etc. These are not my favorite ingredients.   It is really easy to make your own almond milk.  It is also a lot tastier when you do it yourself.  All you need is some almonds, water and a nut-milk bag or cheese cloth for straining.  Patients ask all the time if almond milk will work on the HCG Diet when they get to phase III and the answer is YES!  Give it a try.


How to Make Your Own Almond Milk for P3 of the HCG Diet


I usually start by taking 2 cups of organic, raw, sprouted almonds and soaking them overnight in water with about 1/2 tsp salt.  This is an important step as it helps to break down the phytic acid in the almonds.   In the morning, I take the time to slip the skin off of the almonds until I have a bowl of pearly, white almonds.  You do not have to do this step.  I just like it better this way. 


Next, take your soaked almonds and rinse them well.  I then place mine on a baking sheet and place them in  the toaster over or oven on lowest heat.  I find that this step helps to activate enzymes within the almonds. After 15 minutes, mix the almonds in pure water ( 1 cup almonds to 4c water or to desired thickness) and place in vita mix or any other powerful blender.  Blend on high speed for a few minutes until creamy.  Then, strain mixture through a nut-milk bag or cheesecloth.


If you choose to sweeten the almond milk you can add stevia, dates or honey (if not on the program).  I also add some vanilla bean.  Add the sweetener and vanilla bean to the blender and blend the almond milk with the sweetener/vanilla.


Storing your Homemade Almond Milk


Keep in fridge in a glass jar and ENJOY!  Best to use it within one week if you can.  Add it to smoothies, add it to coffee or tea or enjoy it on its own.!


With the left over almond meal, you can add coconut oil, cacao powder, salt and stevia to desired consistency and sweetness and roll into delicious little balls to snack on!
