DIY Nutbutter - P3 HCG Diet and Beyond

Nut butters are a healthy fat if eaten in moderation. In my experience in working with patients on weight loss nuts are a common food that is all too easy to over eat.  Remember, when the body has eaten more calories than it needs it will store them.  However, a couple tbsp. of nut butter every day is a nourishing way to go.  There are also so many options of different nuts out there. I always try to choose my nuts in the raw form and organically grown if possible. I ask my P3 HCG Diet patients to keep the nutbutter to no more than one serving per day.

Making Nut Butter

Nut butter is really easy to make and it can take less than 10 minutes from start to finish.  My recipe that I follow usually makes about 1 1/4 cups.  First choose the nuts you would like to use to make your nut butter. You can mix them up or choose just one type. My favorites are almond, cashews, macadamia nuts, pecans and pistachios.  Have a food processor handy and a glass jar to place the nut butter in when you are all done.

Ingredients for P3 HCG Diet Friendly Nut Butter

2 cups of raw nuts of your choice; preferably raw and organic.

3/4 tsp. sea salt

1 tbsp. liquified coconut oil

Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend. You may need to scrape the sides of the bowl on occasion.  The mixture will slowly become creamy in about 5-7 minutes.  If you need to add more salt or oil to the final product you can stir it in. Store in a glass, airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Enjoy!!
