Healthy Holiday Eating -- Stay on Track

 To many people, the holidays are a time to binge and enjoy a variety of foods that come only once per year.  This sounds nice, however, your body really will not feel so well when you put in a whole bunch of sugar and processed foods over the course of the holidays.  Not only that ... you will most likely gain a few pounds and that really does not feel very good to most of us.  I encourage all of those who have completed our HCG Diet program at The Natural Path to indulge with the end of your fork here and there.  Enjoy the tastes of your favorite holiday foods to the fullest.  With mindfulness, you will enjoy these foods so much more than if you were to mindlessly eat each bite until it was gone.


Here are some of our Favorite Holiday Eating Tips

    1. Maintain!!!  Instead of focusing on losing weight over the holidays simply stay on track with your current weight!
    2. Don't skimp on the exercise.  Exercise will help the waist line and decrease stress.  At the very least, walk 10-20 minutes twice per day!
    3. When at a holiday buffet -- fill your plate with mostly vegetables and enjoy one special treat with the "one to two bite rule."
    4. CAUTION: alcoholic beverages are full of sugar, hard on the liver and decrease will power.  Non-alcoholic beverages are often filled with sugar.  Go for the water or tea!
    5. Have a nice little meal at home before you head to a gathering.  Be sure to make it mostly clean, lean protein and vegetables
    6. Before you eat at a party -- sit down and enjoy your food.  Take it bite by bite and stop as soon as you feel satisfied!
    7. Take the focus off of food and put it on being TOGETHER!  Reframe the holiday season!
    8. Bring your own healthy dish to the party and make that what you eat!

A Healthy Holiday "not so egg" Nog

This is one of my family favorites over the holidays.  Quick and easy to make.  It has healthy ingredients and is the best!


Four bananas

1-1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk

1-1/2 cups organic, plain nonfat yogurt

1/4 teaspoon rum extract

pinch of  ground nutmeg

Blend all ingredients except nutmeg until smooth.  Sprinkle nutmeg on top. Enjoy!
